AIPPI positions itself as a politically neutral, non-profit organization headquartered in Switzerland, with over 8,000 members from more than 110 countries. Its members include lawyers, patent attorneys, patent agents, trademark agents, as well as judges, academics, engineers, and corporations interested in IP protection on both national and international levels.

Additionally, in February 2023, Sergiy Barbashyn was a speaker at the international webinar “Video Games and Intellectual Property in Europe,” organized by the IP Committee of the Ukrainian National Bar Association (UNBA) in cooperation with AIPPI. The discussion focused on issues related to the identification and transfer of intellectual property rights in the IT sector, the protection of video game components, as well as strategies for judicial and alternative dispute resolution in European countries.

Article on the state of intellectual property in Ukraine under martial law
On February 2, 2024, AIPPI published an article titled “Intellectual property protection in Ukraine during the war”, authored by Sergiy Barbashyn.
